Sporting Events

The CDA Weekend Warrior Adventure Race will be a 1.5 to 2 hours entry level race for the Adventure Race expert as well as the non-athlete amateur.

Rules

Competitors compete in teams of two and must maintain contact with each other throughout the competition. Pairs must reach each checkpoint together and cross the finish line together. If one member of the team cannot continue the team is disqualified.

Course

• Kayaking to Point Gourde,
• hiking through Point Gourde to the cave and the shipwreck,
• kayaking to the Chagville Beach,
• hiking to the Lumber Trail and then
• Kayaking to the finish @ the Kayak Center.

Along the way competitors will have to find clues and put together puzzles of historical facts of Chaguaramas.

There will be 200 metre Kayak Races alternating with Dragon Boat Races from 9.00 am to Noon on Saturday 01 May. There would be closer finishes and there would be more excitement as in Twenty20 cricket.

Fees

Entry fees will be $20 per event. There will be no charge for rental of surf skis or kayaks.

There will be random draws for 1 month free rental to encourage participants who may not feel they have a chance to win trophies and medals.

Race Categories

Depending on the number of entries in each class, there may be qualifying heats.

For recreational paddlers in Sit On Top Kayaks we will have the following classes:

• Double - men
• Double - women
• Double - Mixed Double -
• Novice (men, women and mixed)
• Single - men Single - women
• Single - Novice

Classes for For Surf Ski Paddlers:

• Single - men
• Single - women
