Macqueripe was once acquired by Sir George Fredrick Huggins in 1924. He built a hotel with several cottages and it was called the Macqueripe Beach Club. |
During the American occupation from 1941 - 1972 the Macqueripe beach club was maintained as an entertainment center from the families of the American officers. Macqueripe beach was once an American Submarine station during World War II.
