Macqueripe was once acquired by Sir George Fredrick Huggins in 1924. He built a hotel with several cottages and it was called the Macqueripe Beach Club. 

During the American occupation from 1941 - 1972 the Macqueripe beach club was maintained as an entertainment center from the families of the American officers. Macqueripe beach was once an American Submarine station during World War II. 

 

 Macqueripe is a sheltered bay on the Northern coastline of Chaguaramas it is also one of the more popular beaches on the peninsula.
