GASPAR GRANDE Interactive Map

Gaspar Grande is a mile in length and half of a mile in width. It is a limestone Island that covers an area of about 280 acres and reaches a height of 339ft or 103 meters at it's highest point.

Yellow Poui, Giant Cactus, Hog Plum, Silk Cotton, Agave, Manicou fig, Naked Indian, Pelican Flower, Queen of the Forest,    Cow Icth, Sugar Apple, Salt-fish Wood.

Gaspar Grande is home to the now famous Gasparee Caves. A natural limestone cave system with a mysterious pool at it base. Other Caves are the White Cave, the Brioge Cavern and the Precipice Cavern. 

Gaspar Grande is rich in history, with historical events, such as the Saga of Admiral Apodaca, Whaling Stations, etc.. .

The Legend There is another cave on the Island called "Williams Dampiers Tunnel" which is dark and mysterious. Legend has it that this tunnel has a pirate's treasure chest which is easliy accessible on certain days of the year.
