Gaspar Grande is a mile in length and half of a mile in width. It is a limestone Island that covers an area of about 280 acres and reaches a height of 339ft or 103 meters at it's highest point. |
Vegetation Yellow Poui, Giant Cactus, Hog Plum, Silk Cotton, Agave, Manicou fig, Naked Indian, Pelican Flower, Queen of the Forest, Cow Icth, Sugar Apple, Salt-fish Wood.

Gaspar Grande is home to the now famous Gasparee Caves. A natural limestone cave system with a mysterious pool at it base. Other Caves are the White Cave, the Brioge Cavern and the Precipice Cavern. |

Gaspar Grande is rich in history, with historical events, such as the Saga of Admiral Apodaca, Whaling Stations, etc.. . |
The Legend There is another cave on the Island called "Williams Dampiers Tunnel" which is dark and mysterious. Legend has it that this tunnel has a pirate's treasure chest which is easliy accessible on certain days of the year. |
