The Leprosarium was located on Coco Bay and Sanders Bay. The female patients stayed at Sanders Bay while the male patients stayed at Coco Bay.
Doctor's House on Chacachacare
The First set of patients were brought to the island in 1922
The Dominican sisters had a convent at La Chapelle Bay, which was located on the opposite side of the settlement.
October 10th, 1926, Dr. Welch arrived in Trinidad to take up residence on Chacachacare. He stayed in a house at Rust Bay. Dr. Welch was appointed as the Medical Superintendent of the Hansenian Settlement.
