Lush forest of bewildering complexity climb dramatic peaks, offering exceptional views across green valleys, ravishing coastlines and the gulf of Paria. To the west, the islands of Monos, Huevos and Chacachacare are natural treasures for you to discover.

Chaguaramas is also the location of the fastest growing nautical industry in the Caribbean; recognized as an international hurricane "safe-zone", marinas and boatyards have sprung up along the south shore and thousands of yachts make the area their home every year.

For recreation, there is kayaking, windsurfing, hiking trails through the forest, a 9-hole golf course, mountain biking, and bird-watching and other eco-tourism activities. Macqueripe beach is a small, sheltered bay that is perfect for swimming. The offshore islands (Gasparee, Monos, Chacachacare) are also popular relaxation and recreation spots.

Chaguaramas is home to the Red-Howler Monkey; capuchin monkeys, wild hogs and silky anteaters; deer; agouti; armadillo; collared peccary; caimans and iguanas; even the ocelot and the elusive tyra. Birds, butterflies and insects of extraordinary species abound.
