Snake Release in Chaguaramas

 

The Emperor Valley Zoo released over two dozen young boa constrictors (macajuels) into the Chaguaramas forest, in August 2007. The National Park department and the Emperor Valley zoo has over the years have been in a partnership with releasing of young animals into the wild. Over time animals such as iguanas and snakes have been released into the Chaguaramas Forest.

 

   Jesma McFarlane PhD and Emperor Valley Zoo personnel and some of the young Boa Constrictors to be released in the Chaguaramas Forest. General Manager, CDA Ms. Diane Dumas looks at the young Constrictors just before are carried off to be released in Chaguaramas.
