St. Chad's
Church
Located in Tucker Valley is an Anglican Church, which was built by the British at Mt. Pleasant, this was used by the villagers, for religious commitments. It was located between the grocery and the school. This particular church is only one of three that were located in Chaguaramas in the 18th century. The Institute Of Marine Affairs was formally a Catholic Church while there was another at Teteron, both built |
by the Americans. It is obvious then that the plantation workers were not deprived of their religious beliefs but were encouraged since it was the basis of discipline within the community. The Tomb of Amelia Trip is also located in Mt. Pleasant |
