The Chaguaramas Hotel and Convention Center only minutes from Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago's capital is located at the doorway to the Chaguaramas National Park. The three storied building, at the foot of Morne Catherine, looks out across the Gulf of Paria in a wide panoramic vista that encompasses Port of Spain with its Twin Towers reaching skyward to the east, and to the high wooded promontory that is Point Gourde to the west. The view also includes the Five Islands or Las Cotorras (The Parrots, as the Spaniards called them), to the south. On clear days the bold massif that is the San Fernando Hill can be seen looking like a full rigged ship, hull down, on the southern horizon.
