CDA partners with Youth Council on clean-up campaign

Students from the Carenage Boys Government Primary School  take the  initiative during CDA’s recent beach clean-up exercise on World Environment Day at Welcome  Bay. The Authority partnered with the National Youth Council and other groups as part of C&B T&T.

The beaches  of Chaguaramas will be throbbing with activity as the Chaguaramas  Development Authority (CDA)  partners with  several agencies  and organizations on  Sunday June 27 which has been designated as ‘Clean Up and  Beautify Trinidad and Tobago (C&B T&T).

CDA management and staff will join approximately 200 youths from the National Youth Council of Trinidad and Tobago  (NYCTT), in a coordinated effort  aimed at beautifying and  cleaning  up the Chaguaramas area.

Other groups  involved and contributing to the exercise include Trinbago Bag Packers Club, Process Components Ltd (PRO COM), T&T Eco-Divers Club, UWI Students Endeavours and environmental group Earth Strong Trinidad and Tobago.

The removal of marine debris and other unsightly waste will be done from Chagville Beach to Welcome Bay  and will include the dredging of waterways within the area and a tree-planting exercise at Williams Bay with the seedlings being provided by the NYCTT.

CDA  sees C&B T&T  as a means to alleviate the country's perennial flooding problems and for  citizens to recognize that they have a part to play in ensuring the preservation and protection of the environment.
