Under the Chapter: 35:02 (the CDA Act), the CDA is vested with all the lands of the North Western peninsula including the off-shore islands of Gaspar Grande, Monos, Huevos and Chacachacare.

Under Section 14 of the CDA Act the Authority has its principal function the development of the North Western peninsula and must insure that such development is carried out in conformity with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning Act (Chap: 35:01)
